Overview

Embedding Critical Research into the Coaching Curriculum (eCRiC) is a new CRiC initiative aimed at capturing and recognising how research is being used to shape coaching education and development. While traditional academic citations are relatively easy to track, eCRiC focuses on the harder-to-see but equally important influence of research on teaching practice and coach development.

Aims and Objectives

eCRiC seeks to broaden awareness of how critical research is informing real-world practice—particularly in educational settings and coach development environments. The initiative supports CRiC members in evidencing the reach and impact of their work, encourages a culture of shared recognition, and helps fulfil institutional expectations around demonstrating research impact.

Interested in contributing?

Anyone who has used academic work to shape the learning or development of coaches, students, or related practitioners is invited to complete a short form for each resource used. In the spirit of reciprocity, users are also encouraged to submit entries recognising the work of others that has influenced their own practice.

Use the link below to complete the form or contact eCRiC lead Adam Nichol with any questions: adam.j.nichol@northumbria.ac.uk.
